Words & Advice
Writing is tough—scientific writing is plain difficult.
Trust me, I know. I am a biomedical scientist with expertise in the aging field, having a breadth of experience in epigenetics, molecular biology, neuroscience, and cellular biology. After more than a decade of experience in Academia, I’ve poured countless hours into the write-revise-repeat cycle of manuscript and grant submission. Over the years, I learned that how you say something is arguably more important than what you have to say. Using my unique experiences in the biomedical field as a professor and professional grant writer, I help my clients develop a storyline that is sure to engage reviewers and increase overall impact. I am highly collaborative and genuinely enjoy working as a team to put forward the best final product!

Writing a grant or a manuscript is a long and tedious process. Am I giving enough detail? Will reviewers be convinced that this is the best approach?
Having experience with grant and fellowship applications, project proposals, and manuscripts in the biomedical field, I know firsthand how easy it is to get lost in the minutia.
Truly impactful work requires outside advice and honest feedback. To help boost the likelihood of publication or funding, I offer a technical critique of your work from the lens of a scientific reviewer. I will include input on any major issues that are likely to be flagged by peer reviewers and/or editors.

Science is as much storytelling as it is data dissemination. If you have a flat story, your hard work is likely to be triaged. The same goes for submissions that leave the reviewer confused and grumpy.
I rely on my training as a professor and science writer to critically evaluate the writing and provide suggestions on how to organize the data into a cohesive and engaging story.

Want one more set of eyes before submitting?
This option is for nearly complete works that need a final proofread. Here I will ensure that everything is grammatically correct and fully polished by correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, verb tense consistency, noun-verb agreement, and formatting consistency.
